Birds of Hungary
This list is based on MME Hungarian Rarities Commettee's list of the Birds on Hungary dated in 2008. Since then are new species in Hungary's fauna, so our list is updated with species, that are not accepted yet by HRC.
We face numerous changes in taxonomy recently. There is no official taxonomy for Hungarian fauna, so it is hard to decide whitch taxonomical canges should be accepted.
Breeding pair numbers are also based on the above mentioned 2008 list. We have updated the list where there are newer, more accurate data available.
We are the first to present codes online for bird species status in Hugary. Legend:
F - Regular breeder
O - Rare/Occasional breeder
G - Regularly present annually
R - Rare (usually not present annually)
X - Extremely rare
